A little over a year ago, after ten years as a stay at home mom, I took a job at my local post office. Great pay, decent hours and five minutes from home. All of that was fine and good until recently, when I started to wonder;
"If I can do this and do it well, who's to say I can't branch out - take on a new challenge and maybe even choose some sort of career path. You know, decide what I want to do with my life."
One day, while perusing some job sites, I saw that Jacob Boutique was hiring store managers.
If you've seen my closet you know that this would be like the mother ship calling me home. I have a bit of a thing for Jacob clothing - and um, hello! Discount!
I fired off my resume with a nice little cover letter and low and behold, she called the following week.
I was interviewed and wooed and complimented and made to feel really, really good. Seriously, flattering me will get you everywhere. Telling me that I am obviously a high energy and very successful person and parent is one sure way to my heart. Telling me that I would be an excellent fit for your company and that you want me to help run one of your stores? Well, I just might say yes.
So, starting February 9, not only will I get to look great while I got to work (even if I have to drive a bit to get there), but I am reasonably sure I will know what it's like to love my work.
Excited. Terrified. Anxious. Happy.
All me today.
