Our meals have been unimaginative of late, and if you're one of the ladies on the mailing list that I send our weekly menus to I am sorry for falling off the wagon, but we've been so busy that I can barely contemplate what to make, let alone actually get it done.
I've been doing a lot of the crockpot dry-hump lately. I've worked nearly eighty hours in the last two weeks (for a part time working mom, that's a lot!) and we've had so many amazing parties. There's just nothing better than throwing some chicken and tomatoes in the crockpot and serving it over noodles with garlic bread. Instant supper!
Tonight, we're finishing off the last of our summer beef order and having a sirloin tip roast. I'm going to roast it traditionally, on high heat for a shorter period of time and hopefully enjoy roast beef the way I like it: garlicky, juicy and red!
This week I've also planned chili and my friend Alison's fantastic Creamy Italian Chicken which you should make very soon if you get a chance. Yum!
Wednesday is Christmas Eve and it's just not the night before Christmas without tourtiere and shrimp and finger foods and sugar pie. I'm French Canadian and it would feel like peas without carrots without all that stuff.
Christmas Day is the traditional turkey and trimmings. I'm also going to attempt a real bread pudding for dessert. Wish me luck!
