The Up and The Down
Last Friday John and I endured the small business owner equivelant of "Show Up For Work Friday, Get Told Not To Come In Monday (With No Notice or Warning". In essence, he was basically laid off. The specifics aren't important, but his small business, an employer of nine, was pretty much shut down.
It has been up and down.
We've gone from feeling optimistic and excited at a possible chance to start it all over and fix some bugs we had, to feeling desperate and contemplating what next. One minute we are more united and close than we have ever been. The next, we're at each other's throats yelling "What is it you want me to do?".
All the while, we have to keep a brave face for our kids, not to mention continuing to shuffle them from here to there.
It's times like this that I wish I had a serious talent that could make us some big money. Like singing or poker playing or bank robbing. Sadly, there are only two banks in town and the tellers know my face and voice. Also, my poker face needs work. The last time I had pocket aces I blushed like a moron and giggled like a schoolgirl.
We'll be fine. My husband is an awesome businessman. Too bad he wasn't a better poker player or potential male stripper though. I'm just saying.

we've been there. i was 7 months pregnant with josh and we had just bought a new house. {hugs} i'm always here if you want to talk!!

oh geez, that's rough. you guys seem pretty strong though, you'll pull through it.
we went through it last year, it sort of shakes your foundation a little bit, but it helped put a lot of things in perspective.
hope your doing okay.

Oh man, that's totally rough. My worst nightmare just happened to you. Eeks. Although I'm sure it's of little consolation now, things always seem to work out in some way or another and this will take you somewhere new and better.

Ugh, I'm sorry, Chantal. Dave and I would go back and forth like you guys are, too.
Hang in there.

Oy. Hang in there, I will cross the fingers of everyone in the house and, in true Mexican tradition, ask Nana to pray a couple of novenas for you. :)
Say it with me "everything will be okay, everything will be okay..."
